BY LAND

If you plan to rent a car or maybe you are already traveling for an "on the road" tour in Italy, to also reach Sorrento and the Amalfi coast, just follow the following instructions:
Coming from the Milan / Rome highway, you must always follow the signs to Naples. From Rome the distance until Sorrento is about 180 miles. Immediately after passing the "Torre Annunziata" exit, after a few kilometers you will find a second exit on the right side, called "Castellammare di Stabia". Taking this last exit, just follow the signs for Sorrento and always keep left at each intersection that you will find along the road. The sign that you are following the right indications will be seeing on your way, 3 tunnels one following the other ...
It is Counciled to maintain a speed on the highway no more than 130km/h or 80mph in good weather conditions, while 110km/h or 68mph in case of rain. In Italy, know that along the major motorway arteries, such as the one that goes from Milan to Naples (called A1), you will find, at a distance of about 50 kilometers from each other, parking areas with restaurant and bathrooms where you can have a rest. You will have to pay a fee, along the highway, called "toll" at certain points.

( NOT DIRECTLY)

It is probably the most used and comfortable way to reach the Sorrento Peninsula if you come from abroad. Unfortunately Sorrento does not have a city airport and the closest is located in Naples (Capodichino), about 55 km away from Sorrento. Just outside of Naples airport, you will have several options to move to Sorrento, namely:
The first option is Curreri Bus Line, with different bus departure times that from the main airport entrance will take you directly to the Sorrento train station, (practically in the center with the single ticket cost of € 10 per person, including luggage).
The second option is the traditional taxi that you will find comfortably at the exit of the "arrivals" side which will take you directly to your hotel in Sorrento (prices to be agreed and negotiated with the driver)
The third option is to book an N.C.C (chauffeur service) service in advance, which will wait for you at the "arrivals" gate at the scheduled your arrival time with a sign with your name and surname and will take you to your hotel in Sorrento (reasonable and affordable prices)
Of course we can provide you with a taxi from Sorrento or a N.C.C that will pick you up in Naples (reservations required)

BY SEA

(FROM NAPLES "BEVERELLO")

If you are already in Naples, perhaps near the port, and prefer not to spend 1 hour and a half, or probably more in the high season, by car or by bus to reach Sorrento, then the best solution is to take the ferry, inside the port, at the "Beverello" pier located in front of the "Castel Nuovo"  (also called Maschio Angioino) . All ferries are equipped with every safety system required by Italian law, air conditioning and armchairs for all passengers.There is also a bar for drinks and snacks in the center of all the ferries . You can also carry various luggage with you and various accessories such as strollers and wheelchairs. The cost of the ticket varies according to the working season, but usually the cost per person and for a single ride, is about € 14,20 (VAT included)  for people over 12 years old, including only one bag per person for free, but it is still possible to purchase others at the ticket office. There is a price reduction for children under 12 years (€ 10.80 per child). The infants up to 1 year travels for free.
